To safely navigate to, dock and recover crew of stricken submarines and help avoid a repeat of the unsuccessful attempt to save the crew of the Russian Kursk.
Fugro GRL developed a pilot trainer for the Perry Slingsby LR5 series, as used on the Russian Kursk. The simulator was driven using a hardware vehicle control panel as used by the Korean Navy. Prototypes also developed for OceanWorks and the Singapore Navy. Also prototyped control pod installation and altimeter-based ranging for hatch mating.
Training and rehearsal of time and safety-critical rescue procedures easily adaptable to any rescue vehicle. Enables docking procedures validation as well as lifting and towing operations validation during recovery.
