Challenge
The Australian North Rankin Alpha Platform required weld inspections on a number of key subsea nodes.
Solution
Development of the ARM Nodal Inspection and Cleaning System allowed inspections to be planned onshore for optimal placement. On-site it was used as the control interface to drive the inspection tool along pre-planned paths.
Business Benefits
Software ran on a standard laptop. On deployment, inspection of 5 large nodal welds was achieved up to 10x faster than manually controlled manipulator weld inspection techniques.
